The Ploopy Classic 2 Trackball is a 3D-printed, open-source trackball mouse. It runs QMK, has an incredibly high-end tracking sensor, and supports VIA, which allows for quick and portable customization for the buttons. This kit must be built by you prior to use.

Description

THIS ITEM IS CURRENTLY IN A “PREORDER”. This means that any orders you submit to us that include a Classic 2 Trackball may not ship immediately.

We are currently offering multiple tiers of preorder status. They are as follows:

  • Tier A: These orders will ship within 8 weeks of the order date.
  • Tier B: These orders will ship within 20 weeks of the order date.

Ploopy has a strong history of preorder management, and so far, we have delivered all of our preorder units for previous product launches within the promised amount of time.

The Ploopy Classic 2 Trackball Kit includes everything necessary to build the trackball. You will have to build the trackball before it can be used.

To complete the assembly, you’ll need:

  • A Phillips head screwdriver (#1 or similar size)
  • A soldering iron
  • Solder

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ABOVE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS.

Wedges are now available! The Classic 2 docks on top of the Wedge, which alters the angle of the Classic 2 by twenty degrees. Some users find this to be a more comfortable angle, and some users find it less comfortable.

Default firmware

The Classic 2 Trackball ships with QMK preloaded. Currently, we’re shipping with version 0.27.13.

Want to load new firmware onto your Classic 2 Trackball? Loading new firmware is fast and easy, and doesn’t require anything except your computer. Check out our guide here. It includes a full set of instructions on loading new firmware. You can load new firmware with tools like QMK Toolbox or the QMK Configurator.

Note:

Because this trackball has roller bearings, it’s noticeably louder that other trackballs. It makes a sort of scratchy grinding noise when the ball is moved. It’s a noise that you will notice during use. Please keep this in mind before ordering.

Shipping

  • We ship packages using Canada Post.
  • During the checkout process, you will see an estimate for delivery time. THIS IS NOT AN ESTIMATE FOR HOW LONG THE PRODUCT WILL TAKE TO ARRIVE FROM YOUR DATE OF PURCHASE. It is an estimate for how long the package will be in transit.
  • Orders will be shipped out on the basis of availability.
  • Ploopy may charge sales tax for sales of Products; Canadian orders will show sales tax (HST or GST) upon checkout, while International orders will have sales tax collected upon import.
  • If sales tax is not indicated during the checkout process, it will be collected upon import along with all other charges related to customs, duties, and brokerage fees. Ploopy does not receive these funds, nor do we mandate their collection; they are collected by customs as part of international trade agreements.
  • Shipping costs are not declared on customs forms; only the value of purchased goods is declared.
  • If a shipping option declares that it is (Untracked), no tracking number for the parcel will be provided.

Returns

Included with your Ploopy hardware is a limited one (1) year manufacturers warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty is automatically voided if you in any way alter the hardware, software or firmware you receive, including but not limited to flashing new firmware onto hardware you purchase from us.

We offer a 30-day return policy (shipping not included).
