Preorder Details

The A+ Trackball is currently in a preorder phase. That means that any orders you place with us that include an A+ Trackball will be shipped out on the basis of availability.

The preorder is split into different tiers:

• EARLY ACCESS: Orders from this tier will ship out immediately.
• TIER A: Orders from this tier will ship out within 8 weeks of our launch date.
• TIER B: Orders from this tier will ship out within 16 weeks of our launch date.
• TIER C: We do not currently have an estimate for when units from this tier will ship, but will provide regular updates to this listing and on our social media channels as we update our shipping time estimates.

The launch date for the A+ Trackball is 19 August 2026.

Ploopy has a strong history of preorder management. We have released multiple products under these exact preorder conditions, and we have always successfully delivered all units within the promised amount of time.

Assembly

To complete the assembly, you’ll need:

• A Phillips head screwdriver (#1 or similar size)
• A soldering iron
• Solder

If you do not have these tools, you will not be able to complete the assembly process.

We strongly recommend looking over our soldering guide, which will provide you with all of the background information you will need to successfully solder your Ploopy kit.

This kit requires a significant amount of electronics assembly expertise to assemble correctly. If your device is non-functioning as a result of inadequate assembly, we cannot provide warranty service to you. Default firmware

The Ploopy A+ Trackball ships with QMK preloaded.

The A+ Trackball supports VIA out of the box for easy button remapping! Use the VIA online web-app here to quickly and easily reconfigure your button setup to just what you prefer. Note that you may have to spend thirty seconds configuring VIA in order to successfully use it with the A+; see these instructions for more details.

Want to load new firmware onto your Ploopy Trackball? Loading new firmware is fast and easy, and doesn’t require anything except your computer. Check out our guide here. It includes a full set of instructions on loading new firmware. You can load new firmware with tools like QMK Toolbox or the QMK Configurator.

Roller Bearing Noise

Because this trackball has roller bearings, it’s noticeably louder that other trackballs. It makes a sort of scratchy grinding noise when the ball is moved. It’s a noise that you will notice during use. Please keep this in mind before ordering.
